This was my second visit to New York in my life, the first visit was back in 2009.
Ever since my childhood, I’ve fantasized about living in “The City that Never Sleeps”. Something about it’s huge Gothic architecture, old buildings covered in street art, diverse mix cultures and its arty modernism has always been very appealing to me.
On my first visit to NYC, I ticked off many of the main tourist destinations such as the Statue of Liberty, which was cool but seven years later I was more interested in discovering less obvious parts of the city to visit.
We stayed in the hipster central part of Brooklyn, Bushwick, which was filled with art, music, cinemas, great food and lots of trendy young people. Our apartment in a converted old warehouse had a roof terrace with a perfect view of Manhattan.
I really enjoyed our visit there. New York people have a reputation of being rude and impatient but we found everyone we spoke to to be polite and very helpful. Hope to see you again New York!
