This marked the culmination of my photography journey in the stunning Cayman Islands before embarking on a new chapter in my career as a Wedding Photographer and Videographer in Auckland, New Zealand. And what an extraordinary chapter it promises to be! This enchanting celebration unfolded on the tranquil yet captivating sister island of Cayman Brac. Just a few months earlier, I had the pleasure of capturing Liz and Jesse’s engagement photos, so you can understand my excitement when they invited me to join them on the Brac to document their special day.

The sun-drenched ceremony graced the sandy shores on what might have been one of the warmest days in the Cayman Islands. Despite the scorching heat, it was an occasion of unparalleled beauty and significance.

As I begin my role as a Wedding Photographer in Auckland, I’m eagerly looking forward to capturing the love stories of many more couples against the backdrop of Auckland’s stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. It’s a new adventure, and I can’t wait to create lasting memories for couples who entrust me with their special day.

First and foremost, it’s important to clarify that these  wedding photographs were not taken from Auckland or even New Zealand. I am a dedicated wedding photographer and videographer who has recently made the journey from the Cayman Islands to Auckland, New Zealand. This small and wonderful elopment took place towards the end of 2022 in the Cayman Islands, and it was an intimate and incredibly beautiful occasion featuring a truly charming couple.

The couple sought my services after discovering my portfolio, which not only showcases my expertise as a professional wedding photographer but also highlights my passion for landscape and astrophotography. They were particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of creating unique and enchanting images that seamlessly blended the awe-inspiring natural scenery and the celestial beauty of the night sky. During the wedding, we also enjoyed some creative moments capturing the ethereal glow of their sparklers through long exposure photography. Additionally, we indulged in a delightful “trash-the-dress” session the following morning, with the azure sea as our backdrop.

I am thrilled to have relocated to Auckland, a location that is teeming with exquisite beaches, renowned wineries, and breathtaking vistas. This move allows me to continue honing my craft and offering my expertise as an Auckland Wedding Photographer to couples who wish to capture their special moments amidst this stunning natural backdrop.

I had the pleasure of capturing a heartwarming full-day wedding celebration for my friends, Steph and Kerry, set against the picturesque backdrop of Kaibo Beach on the North Side of the Cayman Islands

While this delightful wedding didn’t take place in Auckland, New Zealand, where I now proudly work as an Auckland Wedding Photographer, it reminded me of the enduring power of love and the beauty in intimate celebrations.

Instead of the usual pre-wedding engagement session, Steph and Kerry opted for a post-wedding shoot when things were more relaxed. What made it even more special was the presence of their big dogs Midas & Archie, who joined in the fun. As they enjoyed themselves on the sandy beach, I swiftly captured some enchanting photos that really captured the joy of the moment.

At its heart, a wedding is more than an event; it’s a profound connection between two souls, a story that unfolds uniquely for each couple. Steph and Kerry’s wedding reinforced the importance of these connections and the cherished moments that define them.

As I continue my journey as an Auckland Wedding Photographer, I carry the fond memories of this special celebration with me. This experience highlighted the importance of capturing emotions and stories that make each wedding unique. It’s a privilege and a responsibility I embrace wholeheartedly.

In the days ahead, as I focus on capturing the beauty of Auckland’s landscapes and vibrant culture, I carry forward the lessons and warmth of this unique celebration, committed to preserving the essence of every love story I have the honour of documenting.

It’s not often I’m both the official wedding photographer and a guest, but that’s what happened at my friends Luci & Nik’s 2022 wedding. You can spot me in the group photo on the far right, captured using a tripod and timer.

Although this wedding wasn’t in Auckland, New Zealand, where I now work as an Auckland Wedding Photographer, it was a cherished event. Set amidst trees and a stunning coastline, it offered a unique and intimate backdrop.

Being a friend and photographer posed challenges and rewards. I aimed to capture candid moments while fully participating in the joy of the occasion. It was a delicate balance we managed well.

While not in Auckland, this wedding reaffirmed the enduring power of love and the beauty of intimate celebrations. It’s a reminder that weddings are about connections and shared moments.

As I continue my journey as an Auckland Wedding Photographer, I carry the memories of this unique celebration, emphasizing the importance of capturing emotions and stories that make each wedding special.

Never before have I captured two weddings the same brand and groom, but this is what happened Stacie & Darren, who had canceled and rearrange many wedding plans during 2020. As a result they decided to have a small wedding with close friends and family back in November as they were not sure when they would be able to hold a bigger event. Fortunately it wasn’t too much longer before public events could be held in the Cayman Islands and they decided to host a large scale wedding at Kaibo in Rum Point, north side of Grand Cayman with friends and family from around the world.

It was wonderful to capture that’s only a small intimate wedding but also this grander event at one of the Cayman Island’s most beautiful locations.

Due you to the unusual events of 2020, my clients Stacie & Darren had to change their wedding plans. With much uncertainty as to when things would settle down and people could gather in crowds again they decided to seal the deal and tie the knot. As it happens this was just the first of two weddings I captured for Stacie & Darren, as this first wedding at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman was small gathering of close friends and family.

After a long wait and many rearranged plans it was great to see Stacie and Darren finally getting married. We captured some amazing images of them two, running down 7 mile beach with sparklers in hand. 

The shot I got them at the bottom of the stairs of the Ritz Carlton, back-lit with a silhouette effect is one of my favourite wedding photos I’ve ever taken.

Four months later I captured that wedding again! This time at Kaibo on the North Side of Cayman, with a much larger audience.

This full day wedding at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman, was probably one of funnest wedding’s I’ve captured due to Marybeth & Paul’s infectious fun and loving personalities. These loving personalities made for some wonderful captures throughout the day at the Ritz. 

Even when the all the guests had to be moved in doors during the reception due to a sudden downpour, soaked but still smiling bright as ever were out bride & groom and everyone in attendance for that matter. It’s understandable to be a bit upset if it rains during your wedding, especially if you chosen to come to the Cayman Islands specifically for the sunshine and the ability to have your wedding cake on the beach, but that really didn’t matter to Marybeth & Paul – their love for their family, their friends and each other was far more important.

Every moment of this wedding was a blast to capture, the getting ready, the first look, the speeches and the sunset photos were all as beautiful as their love for each other.

This full day wedding in the Cayman Islands was one that I defiantly consider to be one of my favourites to photograph. The beautiful bride, the cool groom, the amazing first look, a stunning ceremony and some truly epic sunset moments. Although it was a full day of shooting, they had kept the schedule pretty simple and there wasn’t too much commuting between locations. 

We shot their first look around the beautiful villas where they were getting ready, and the ceremony and reception took place at Morgans Restaurant by the water. The groom – Chad, arrived to the ceremony by boat which was pretty cool, and that boat made the perfect prop for their sunset photos together.
